Ep 17: Weekender Files - Nikki M. Mascali Roarty
/

Welcome to episode 17 of The Popko Project podcast where I’m joined by Nikki M. Mascali Roarty who served as an intern, staff writer and editor for the Weekender between 2005 and 2012.

For those of you who don’t know, the Weekender back in the day was THE BIBLE when it came to arts and entertainment in Northeastern, Pennsylvania.

We talk about her being the oldest intern in Weekender history, what it meant to be hired full time as the staff writer, interviewing famous people, becoming the editor, meeting her husband, and her current job working as the digital news director for the New York Post.

It it so wonderful seeing Nikki so happy fulfilling her dreams in New York City.

These episodes dubbed “Weekender Files” take a look back at past employees reflecting on how they started at the Weekender, what the Weekender meant to them, memories, the ups, the downs and where they are today.
