Ep 5: Weekender Files – Jane Clements-Smith
Welcome to episode 5 of The Popko Project Podcast where Popko is joined by Jane Clements-Smith, who served as an account executive for the Weekender from 2008 – 2009. The Weekender was, at one time, THE GO TO arts and entertianment publication in Northeastern, Pennsylvania.
Before the Weekender, Jane spent some time working at the Times Leader, which was the parent company of the Weekneder. And although Jane only spent a year at the Weekender, she definitely left her mark and learned some quality life lessons. This episode went DEEP. From job losses, marriage struggles, and lost friendships to fertility issues and child loss. But one thing remains the same, the Weekender for both Popko and Jane laid the foundation for where they are today both as people and professionals.
These episodes dubbed “Weekender Files” take a look back at past employees reflecting on how they started at the Weekender, what the Weekender meant to them, memories, the ups, the downs, and where they are today.
