Ep 77: The Artist Sachiko
/

In episode 77 of The Popko Project podcast I’m joined by Amanda Dittmar aka The Artist Sachiko.

Amanda Dittmar at one point served as an intern and freelance photographer for the Weekender before joining the team full time as the creative director. We talk about some of the good ol’ days of the Weekender and what the time there meant to her as she started her career in the creative field. We also talk about what it was like working at the Weekender during it’s continued decline as new ownership and a digital age were it’s biggest enemies.

We also talk about what it’s like being a queer Asian American abstract artist and some of the unfortunate cases of discrimination she’s faced throughout her life.

But most importantly we discuss her ability to tell stories through art and her first art exhibit being held on April 1st at Bazaar Skateshop on Adams Ave in Scranton as part of First Friday where she’ll have art on display and for sale.

Welcome to the show, Amanda Dittmar, aka, The Artist Sachiko.
