Ep 78: The Verve Pipe
/

In episode 78 of The Popko Project podcast I’m joined by Brian Vander Ark of the band The Verve Pipe. Yes, the band that gave us “The Freshmen”, and other great songs like “Cup of Tea”, “Colorful”, “Happiness Is”, “Never Let You Down”, and more!

We talk about their recent visit to Montage Mountain where they performed for Mountain Fest followed by what may or may not have been an appearance at Poor Richard’s Pub to sing karaoke.

We also get into who came first, The Verve Pipe or The Verve, how great the music and bands were in the 90s and what he did before the band which included serving 4 years in the military and opening for Willie Nelson as a songwriter.

Brian almost quit making music on his 30th birthday, which would have been before the world was exposed to “The Freshmen” . And I’m not sure but he may have eluded to the “punk who rarely ever took advice” as the reason he didn’t stop.

Can’t thank Brian enough for taking the time out of his schedule for this one. Welcome to the show, Brian Vander Ark, of The Verve Pipe.
